Obituary for John "Jack" D. Knauff

John "Jack" D. Knauff, 82, of 171 Hadley Rd., Greenville, (Hempfield Twp.), PA, passed away peacefully at 11:13 pm on Wednesday, February 27, 2019 at St. Paul's in Greenville.

He was born in Greenville, PA on August 22, 1936 to the late, Howard W. and Twila Mae (Davis) Knauff.

Jack was a lifetime member of Crossroads Christian Fellowship Church, Greenville, PA. He and his late wife, Georgine, volunteered at the Good Shepherd Center for ten years.

Jack served in the United States Army.

He was a 1954 Penn High School graduate, Greenville. Jack owned and operated Knauff Refrigeration for 22 years. He also worked for C.B. & I. as a welder in the shipping department for 15 1/2 years. Jack drove semi-trucks for Greenville Lumber and Bristol Consolidators, driving almost one million miles. He was also a part-time Jamestown Policeman in the early 1970's.

Jack loved to fish and hunt, shooting 42 deer in his lifetime.

He was married to the Georgine Knauff on April 22, 1961 and she preceded him in death on April 18, 2016.

Jack is survived by: daughter, Dianne Hill, and her husband, Steve, of Greenville; three grandchildren, Stephanie Hill, and her companion, Chris Cary, Steve Hill, Jr., and Sheri Latimer, and her husband, Brad; two great grandchildren, Bethany Hill and Alisha Latimer; one great grandson on the way, Asher Hill; a companion, Evelyn Amon of Greenville; two sisters, Katherine Sowash of Greenville, and Vicki Vandergrift, and her husband, Brian, of Jamestown; three brothers, Edwin “Pete” Knauff, and his wife, Margie, of Mercer, Irvin Lee Knauff, and his wife, Audrey, of FL, and Gordon "Butch" Knauff, and his wife, Judy, of Greenville; two brothers-in-law, Robert A. Godfrey, and his wife, Debbie, of Imperial, PA, and David McConnell of Greenville.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by daughter, Luanne Fausnaught, and her husband, Donald, sister, Ruthann McConnell, brother-in-law, William Sowash, sister-in-law, Charlotte Knauff, and Sheri Laird Amon, who was like a daughter to Jack.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 3, 2019, from 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm at Osborne-Williams Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 73-75 Columbia Ave., Greenville.

A funeral service will be held at the funeral home at 11:00 am on Monday, March 4, 2019.

A committal service will be held on Monday, March 4, 2019 at the chapel of Rocky Glen Cemetery, Adamsville, PA.
