Obituary for Joseph R. Jayne, Jr.

Joseph R. Jayne, Jr., 75, of 28 Lancaster Ave., Greenville, passed away at 9:55 am on Sunday, July 7, 2019 at The Grove at Greenville.

He was born in Geneva, PA on May 11, 1944 to the late Joseph R. and Margaret (Christy) Jayne, Sr.

Joe attended Jamestown High School. He worked as a conductor for Conrail, and Dad's Products, both in Meadville.

He was an avid sports fan, especially basketball. He loved rooting for the Cleveland Cavaliers and Browns. But most of all, he loved being at all the sporting events of his grandson, Kayden.

Joe is survived by his wife at home, Susan K. (Marshall) Jayne. They were married on February 4, 1977. Also surviving are: two sons, Travis K. Jayne of Greenville, and Joseph R. Jayne III and his wife, Tonya, of Naples, FL; a daughter, Margaret "Shelly" Gessler of Jamestown; six grandchildren, Madison Jayne, Rieley Jayne, Caylee Jayne, Justin West, Harley Gessler, and Kayden Jayne; three great grandchildren; and a sister, Arvid Ann Hall and her husband, Steuart, of Meadville.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by: a son, Christopher Jayne; a grandson, David West; and a sister, Ella Sue Koberg.

A memorial service will be held at Osborne-Williams Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 73-75 Columbia Ave., Greenville, at 12:00 pm on Thursday, July 11, 2019, with Rev. Robert Robertson, pastor of the First Church of God in Greenville, officiating. Friends may call an hour prior to the service, from 11:00 am till noon.

His cremains will be laid to rest beside his son at Shenango Valley Cemetery in Greenville.
